Kym came into the tea industry in 2015. In the decades before, a sense of connection and curiosity for exploring the tea plant's possibilities had formed. A culture bridge connecting her Taiwanese heritage and Australian upbringing. Through her tea business, The Steepery Tea Co., she has worked with hospitality professionals to showcase both hot and cold tea offerings in their venues. As a trained Chartered Accountant, being able to increase the value proposition and scale a sustainable tea business is what drives her in business. Beyond this, she advocates for drawing tea out of the home to build a bigger platform for tea by delivering accessible and thoughtful tea events such as TedXQUT Salon and the Brisbane Tea Festival. Kym met Tania, a fellow Australian tea specialist, and together, they aimed to leave a positive mark on the tea industry. They founded East Forged to provide a sophisticated and authentic alternative to common iced teas, breaking free from excessive sweetness and chemist-derived flavours. Through East Forged, Kym and Tania strive to bring the perfect on-the-go tea beverage to the world.
