Brian Friese is the majority owner of Sencha Tea Bar, an award-winning tea bar where they make “tea your way”. Sencha Tea Bar is the culmination of a lifetime of tea drinking and business learning and has plans to dramatically increase its size and scope in the very near future. As the son of a schoolteacher and Head Start worker, Brian is always carrying a backpack, viewing each day as a new day to learn and giving back to the communities around him a major focus, with the underlined C in Sencha making that a constant reminder. Before buying Sencha Tea Bar, he worked at both American Express and Cargill managing other people’s money where he learned business from some of the most successful management teams in the world by hosting 350 company meetings yearly in his fundamental research process of investing. Brian is a trained Actuary who takes a mathematically researched approach to all things, using spreadsheets as his canvas, and was an Adjunct Professor at the Carlson School of Management, teaching a capstone class on the beautiful art of valuing companies. A loving husband and a proud father of four, family is what brings him pure joy.
